On Saturday the display opened to the public and the schools involved will visit the gallery in the coming weeks to admire the fruits of their labour.

Each school selected a group of children and young people, who worked with an artist in three fun sessions before deciding on their own project plans.

With the theme of change, pupils then worked in photography, journalling, postcards, mapping and textiles to create the impressive display.

Each group also partnered up with a group in another school thoughout the project to share their creative ideas, forming new connections across Batley and Birstall.
