  • Bag contained passport, plane ticket and approximately £160
  • Theft took place at Leeds railway station in the early hours of Monday December 7

British Transport Police officers are looking to trace a man they would like to speak to after a bag was stolen from Leeds railway station. Do you know who he is?

The bag belonged to a girl who was heading to Dublin to celebrate her 21st birthday with her boyfriend.

She left her bag in the waiting shelter on platform 16 at 4.45am on Monday December 7 when she boarded a train. As soon as she left a man picked up the bag, and removed cash from the wallet.

Investigating officer PC Gemma Harman said: “The man clearly was an opportunist thief who seized his chance to steal the victim’s bag which contained her passport, plane tickets and cash. It was a real shame that due to the theft she was unable to travel to Dublin to celebrate her birthday.”

Officers believe the man in the images could have vital information about the incident – who is he?
