Badge of honour for Thornhill Lees Guide Natalie

A GUIDE was given an award after winning a competition which celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

More than 200 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers took part in a celebration event at St Mary’s Community Centre in Mirfield.

Rainbows made bags and decorated cupcakes while Brownies made pencil holders and designed notebooks, and Guides baked cakes and took part in a treasure hunt.

The girls also took part in a competition to design jubilee badges which was won by Natalie Driver, 12, of Thornhill Lees.

The Mayor of Mirfield, Coun David Pinder, presented Thornhill Community Science College pupil Natalie with a framed copy of her badge, which was paid for by Mirfield Town Council.
