The bouncing boy was delivered by caesarean section on October 23 at Dewsbury Hospital and is already wearing clothes for a three-month old and size three nappies.

Mum Natalie Lees of Broadowler, Ossett, said: “We couldn’t believe it and neither could the staff - they weighed him twice because they were so shocked.”

A growth scan on Miss Lees’ due date revealed Finley was ‘off the machine’s scale.’

The 23-year-old, said: “They thought he was going to be a good 10 pounder and decided I couldn’t give birth naturally because there would have been complications.

“We’ve had to take all his newborn and 0-3 month clothes back. Luckily they still had all the tags on.”

Proud dad Luke, 24, said his son’s weight made him a star at the hospital.

He said: “People kept asking if they could come and look at him, because they’d never seen such a big baby.”

A spokesman form the Mid Yorkshire Hospital Trust said: “Finley is certainly one of the biggest babies we can recall being born at Dewsbury Hospital.

“We would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to Finley’s Mum and Dad and welcome him to the world.”
