And in Gomersal, the West End pub won CAMRA’s Heavy Woollen Spring Pub of the Season award.

It is run by Janette and Andy English, who have owned the popular pub for 13 years.

Branch chairman Andy Kassube said: “The success that Andy and Janette have achieved is even more deserved considering that this was the first pub they have ever run but their commitment and ideas have given them this.

“The pub has had numerous nominations for the award over the last three years such is the quality of consistency of its beers but it finally managed to beat all its competitors this quarter.”
