Claire Ward, 45, who has been living on School Crescent since November 2018, said she has fell victim to numerous incidents within that time, including criminal damage to her window, being threatened with a drill, and harassment.

Ms Ward, who suffers from both mental and physical issues, said her experiences have left her feeling like a prisoner in her own home.

“The scariest incident was having my window smashed in and being threaten with a drill.

“I suffer from depression and I have shingles, which have both escalated since living at my current address.

“It’s a miserable situation.

“I fear to go outside most days and it feels like I’m a prisioner in my own home.”

Christine Gummerson, Director of Neighbourhoods at Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, said: “We’re aware of the issues raised by our tenant and we ‘ve been in regular contact with her and have been working with partner agencies to try to resolve this matter.

“This is a very complex case that we’re striving to resolve, and we have assigned a dedicated KNH Officer to support our tenant and act as a single point of contact for them.

“I cannot comment further on this case without compromising on the respect and privacy due to our tenant.”

West Yorkshire Police confirmed inquiries remain ongoing.
