Appeal for more blood donors in Dewsbury and Batley
That’s the question NHS Blood and Transplant is asking people in Dewsbury and Batley as part of a drive to increase donors in our area.
It says 98 per cent of the British population say they would accept blood if they needed it, but only four per cent of those who can give blood actually do.

Hide AdAnyone aged between 17-65, weighing more than 50 kg (7st 12lb) and in general good health could potentially become a blood donor.
Upcoming sessions include:
Friday February 7, Tetley’s Stadium, Owl Lane, Shaw Cross, 1.30pm-3.45pm and 4.45pm and 7.30pm.
Friday February 14, Batley Older People’s Centre, Commercial Street, 1.45pm-3.45pm and 4.45pm-7pm.
Donors may attend without an appointments.
