Detective Constable Andy Clayton said: “As one of the suspects reached round to take the man’s wallet from his rear trouser pocket.

“A scuffle ensued and all three suspects fled the block of flats with the man’s wallet containing cash and cards.

“Fortunately the victim did not suffer any serious injury in the incident, but has been left understandably shocked by what took place.”

All three suspects were described as white males and in their early 20s with slim builds.

The main suspect was described as being particularly skinny with untidy short hair.

He was wearing a khaki green coloured jacket with a drawstring hood and blue jeans.
