Organisers hope the milestone 20th show will be the biggest ever, as acts such as the Stannage Stunt Team and the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue band take centre-stage.

The Reporter Series will be challenging visitors to test their football skills with its penalty shoot-out game.

You’ll get three shots at the targets for 50p along with a goodie bag, a copy of the paper and a voucher to get next week’s paper with all the show coverage for just 50p.

The best strikers will be in with a shot at winning extra prizes.

And it wouldn’t be Mirfield Show without the horse and pony show, a larger-than-ever fun dog show and the best in show competitions for crafts, children’s exhibits, rabbits, poultry, pigeons and eggs.

Chairwoman Karen Bullivant said: “I am proud that the team have pulled together another entertaining family show, with more exhibits than ever before – not just in the main ring, but all over the showground.”

The main event is the Stannage Stunt Team which will perform an array of heroic escapology displays featuring Mark and Janine Stannage, along with son Aaron.

There will also be a music stage, with BBC’s The Voice semi-finalist Sophie May Williams set to be one of the top acts.
