The Mirfield Show boasted its biggest ever turnout in 2014, with around 12,000 visitors to the Mirfield showgrounds on the day.

And organiser Karen Bullivant has promised an equally impressive array of attractions this year, with some fresh ideas and the return of old favourites on Sunday August 23.

She said: “Mirfield Show is a great family day out and provides the opportunity to show the wide range of talents and skills we have in Mirfield and Yorkshire.

“From the bands and musicians that will be performing, to the local designers and artists in the Made in Yorkshire craft tent, and all the excellent competition entries in the baking, gardening and handicraft classes.

“I would encourage everyone to take a look at our website and see if there is a competition or class you would like to enter.”

Back by popular demand is Mirf Fest – a free live music event showcasing the talents of local bands and performers.

Ten local musicians will be taking to the stage to entertain the crowds with support from West Yorkshire radio station The Pulse FM.

The show will also feature agricultural and animal-based attractions as well as food, trade and craft stalls. Various competitions will also take place throughout the day.

A craft marquee will contain a range of arts and crafts, home-made and hand-crafted goods, all produced in Yorkshire. Children under 16 will once again be able to visit the show for free.

Applications for stalls for this year’s show have now closed. Successful applicants have now been informed and a reserve list is now in place.

There are still spaces available in the Made in Yorkshire craft tent.

Though the stalls are now all but finalised, the main attraction is yet to be announced.
