Accident on M62 motorway

Police have warned motorists to take care after receiving reports of a three vehicle pile up on the M62 motorway.

The West Yorkshire force said on Twitter that the accident had been reported at Junction 30 westbound.

It comes after a morning of traffic chaos on the region’s motorways.

A crash reduced the M1 to just a single lane of traffic in each direction, between J45, the A63 (Leeds Cross Green) and J44, the A639 (Leeds South).

And a broken down vehicle caused queues on the M1 northbound carriageway between junction 39 at Durkar and junction 40 at Ossett.
