500-mile cycle in memory of father
James Wilson will ride from Scotland to Spen Valley in November to raise funds for SITraN - a research facility for Translational Neuroscience based in Sheffield.
The 34-year-old is working in Scotland as a crew member of a wreck diving company.

Hide AdWhen his job finishes next month, James will cycle to his mother’s home in Spen Valley, while fund raising for the facility.
James said: “My dad sadly passed away after losing his fight with motor neuron disease in 2009.
“I am doing my best to raise funds so the suffering of others can be reduced.”
Paul Wilson was a firefighter in West Yorkshire for 25 years.

Hide AdHe trained in Birkenshaw and worked at Batley Fire Station while living in Birstall with his wife, Solange.
Paul was a keen cyclist, riding all over the world.
James leaves Thurso on Monday, November 18, and finishes in Birstall on Friday, November 22.
Northgate Vehicle Hire has donated a vehicle to provide supplies for James on his ride.
He has raised around £600 and hopes to reach his target of £2,500 through his Just Giving page.

Hide AdPaul’s daughter, Ruth Weavill, is also organising a fund raiser at Oakwell Motel, in Birstall, on November 29.
Ruth said: “It is mainly a celebration of James’ achievement, a tribute to our Dad and an opportunity to make people aware of MND.”
