The Rising Sun, Norristhorpe Lane, Norristhorpe: The Good Beer Guide says: "Village local with a spacious bar and cosy lounge areas with exposed brick and real fires. Beers are mainly from Yorkshire. Every Tuesday there is a popular quiz with prizes, and occasional live music is advertised on Facebook. The large, well-maintained beer garden boasts extensive views over the valley towards Mirfield and Emley Moor and marquee hire is available. Closed winter Mondays. 6. The Black Bull
The Black Bull, Halifax Road, Liversedge: The Good Beer Guide says: "Ossett Brewery's first pub and Guide entry for over 20 years, the pub is a popular, sociable community local with a warm welcome. The five rooms each have unique styles, providing comfort and atmosphere. On offer are a stout or porter plus guest beers from the group and independents. Quiz night is Tuesday, on Monday darts and dominoes are played in the local league, with monthly acoustic sessions on Sunday tea times. A fine, sheltered beer garden sits by a stream. Knowl Club, Knowl Road, Mirfield: The Good Beer Guide says: The former Mirfield Liberal Club is open to members and the public, holding both club and pub licences. A single bar occupies a well-furnished room offering up to four, mostly Yorkshire, beers. A function room with pool table is downstairs and a well furnished snooker room upstairs. Beer festivals are held in May and November. A small car park at the rear is accessed down and adjacent narrow alley, as is the small beer garden. Closed Mondays and weekday lunchtimes."
