The Kirklees Council website urges people not to park on narrow Queen Street, but use the retail park car park instead.

It has been confirmed the test centre does not allow drive-thru and people must arrive on foot.

Many people park up but cannot find the testing centre and Ifti Gulfraz, of Eye Pharmacy, has urged people to stay away.

Writing on Facebook group Mirfield Matters, he said: “Please do not go into local businesses in Ravensthorpe and ask for directions to the Covid test centre. This is a new kind of stupid.

“If you suspect you have Covid you should be isolating and only going to the test centre and home.

“We have had several people come in and ask for directions. This is not on. And then they get upset when we ask them to leave the premises.

“I have asked the relevant people for better signage. It is located on Queen Street. Park outside Poundland and turn right at the end of the car park and walk down.”
