When will high schools in Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen be welcoming families for opening evenings?

It is that time of year when high schools in Dewsbury, Mirfield, Batley and Spen will be welcoming prospective new pupils and families through their doors for open evenings.

These important one-off nights can prove really useful when it comes to deciding which high school will be the preferred choice for children making the transition from Year 6 to Year 7 in just under 12 months’ time.

Parents have until Saturday, October 31, 2025, to submit their secondary school applications - and our high schools in North Kirklees will be presenting potential pupils with a flavour of what their setting is like at their official open evening over the next few weeks.

Some opening evenings take place this week, while others will be held next month.
