Spa owner Sam’s awards double

A salon has racked up its eigth award in four years – and the owner has been shortlisted for another.

Potting Shed Spa, based in Redbrick Mills, Batley, was crowned Best Salon in the country at the British Hair and Beauty Awards.

Customers cast their votes before a panel of judges decided which spa experience was a cut above the rest.

Owner and founder Sam Pearce said: “On behalf of the team and I, we are honoured to receive this accolade against such stiff competition.”

“It is such an achievement and one that we are so proud of. We strive to set the standards for the industry and provide an exceptional service to our clients. To be recognised again for a national award is a testament to our beliefs.”

Sam has also been shortlisted for the Sue Ryder Yorkshire Women of Achievement Awards.

Every year the organisation asks people in tregion to nominate women they believe to have excelled in business, education, sport, as young achievers and for the Jane Tomlinson Courage Award.

She added: “I am truly overwhelmed by the nomination, and humbled that I have been recognised for my work in the beauty industry.

“I have dedicated the last 16 years to being entirely focussed and determined to make a difference, pouring my heart and soul into my work. To be recognised for this in our region means everything.” The ceremony takes place on Friday, May 15, at the Royal Armouries, Leeds.
