"Many have had little or no income for months and need to open, but it’s not like it was before the virus and I think it will be some time before we go back to normality, whatever that means.

"I walk around Dewsbury almost every day and I've seen a notable rise in the footfall all around the town.

"As more shops continue to open I’m sure footfall will increase, the public houses are open as is the Town Hall reception.

"The market was busy on Saturday, which was great to see and for the most part people were abiding by the social distancing rules which was good to see.

"The market is slowly building up the traders Are now coming back in ever increasing numbers as are the customers and as long as they stick to the rules it will be safe.

"Costa has now opened and I’m delighted to say another part of bringing back the town to life is getting together for a coffee, that brings more footfall."
