Mirfield club presented with CAMRA award at ‘incredible’ beer festival

Mirfield’s Knowl Club - ranked as the number one club for real ale in West Yorkshire by CAMRA - is celebrating after hosting its annual beer festival.

The popular club held its three-day event last weekend, which included a CAMRA representative presenting them with the award for runner-up of the organisation’s Regional Club Of The Year 2025 for the whole of Yorkshire.

Despite the rain, people still turned out in force with the club selling 430 pints of cask ale, equating to six and a half barrels between 4pm and 11pm on the first day, Friday (November 14) .

Saturday saw the CAMRA presentation, with Knowl Club finishing second out of 14 clubs in the entire Yorkshire region - and first in West Yorkshire.

The final day, Sunday, saw the club draw the raffle, which, along with a tombola stall, raised £675 for Kirkwood Hospice.

Sarah-Jane Moon of the Knowl Club said: “It was another great weekend with drinkers describing the event and line-up as incredible and outstanding!

“We would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the raffle and tombola, and thank you to New Day Rising Hypnotherapy for their grand prize donation.

“As of close on the Sunday we had sold, in total, 1,103 pints of cask ale, which equals just short of 16 barrels - and one whole barrel more than last November's event.
