You’d be a Folles to miss La Cage!

spen Amateurs’ November production will be anything but a drag.

The society has chosen the musical La Cage Aux Folles for their main performance this year, which is based on the 1973 French play of the same name.

It focuses on a gay couple – Georges, the manager of a Saint Tropez night club which features drag entertainment, and Albin, his romantic partner and star attraction – and the farcical adventures which ensue when Georges’ son, Jean Michel, brings home his fiancee’s ultra conservative parents to meet them.

La Cage aux Folles is a timeless and deliciously funny tale of family values, unconditional love and, above all, the need to celebrate who we are.

The fabulous score includes I Am What I am, The Best of Times and Son on the Sand.

It runs at the town hall, Cleckheaton, from November 22-26 at 7.15pm with a matinee on the Saturday.

Tickets are £6-£11, from the ticket secretary on 01274 877828, from society members, Kirklees booking wervices or through the website at www.kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls.
