We’re only here for the beer! Bobtown Bash set for a return

Real ale has made a huge comeback over the past couple of years, and beer connoisseurs from across the Spen Valley and beyond will be flocking with their sampling glasses to the annual Bobtown Beer Bash.

After the huge success of last year’s event, organisers are hoping this year’s festival will be the village’s biggest ever.

Organiser Robert Knapp said: “Since our first event in 2010, we have enjoyed quite unprecedented success, and have turned the beer bash into a fabulous social and community event.

“With the support we have got, we are now able to widen the net, and bring in an even more diverse collection of beers and ciders. This year we are showcasing a number of beers from Scotland, as well as the more traditional English beers .”

The festival will feature more than 35 beers from around the country, and organisers hope it will help raise money for Roberttown Community Centre.

Robert added: “We have been able to make contributions to Roberttown Community Centre to assist in the everyday running of the building.

The festival will take place on Saturday July 27 at Roberttown Community Centre from noon – tickets will be available on the door.
