Ramping it up

With their winning combination of youthful exuberance and astonishing athleticism, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 return to Bradford Alhambra this month.

The dancers, who are from all over the world, are all aged 23 or under, yet they fill the stage with feats of virtuoso dancing: jumping higher and spinning faster than seems possible.

They use their young bodies in beautiful ways, expressing emotions and feelings way beyond their years and experience.

The evening will comprise four works. Studio 2 features a ramp and an enormous movable mirror, reflecting both the dancers and the audience. Two short ballets follow: Déjà Vu and Solo.

The final piece is NDT2’s party piece Minus 16, set to a musical compilation of chacha, mambo and traditional Israeli music.

The NDT2 are at the Alhambra on Tuesday March 27 and Wednesday March 28. Tickets are £10.50-£30, call the box office on 01274 432000 or online at www.bradford-theatres.co.uk.
