And now they are taking centre stage themselves as they head out on their own headline tour.

Promoter James Wallace said: “From the British invasion bands of the 60s to the punk and new wave of the 70s, The Retrospectives were raised on the music of their parents.

“Inspired by the likes of Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones and Tom Petty, this energetic three-piece have spent the last two years touring relentlessly, driven by a belief that guitars still have a vital place in popular music.”

The band is playing 13 dates during March and April, and can be seen locally at the Hop in Wakefield on Sunday March 23 and at the Cockpit in Leeds on Sunday March 30.

The tour culminates at the Holmfirth Picturedrome with a supporting slot for punk favourites The Buzzcocks on Saturday April 12.
