Partying in the park

The sun shone over an electrified crowd as they geared up to see some of the pop’s biggest acts take to the stage.

Former X-Factor contestants JLS closed the event and gave the crowd a treat by playing their brand new number one Makes Me Wanna for the first time to a live audience.

Other acts on the line-up included Olly Murs, the Wanted, Pixie Lott, Parade, Jay Sean and many more of pop’s finest.

A special treat saw a rare prototype of the Olympic torch on stage with the Wanted as representatives from Coca-Cola came to Leeds in search of nominations for torch bearers.

As temperatures reached 24 degrees the stars found their own way of making the crowd a bit hotter. JLS’s Aston Merrygold showed off his toned six pack, while former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt took to the stage in a skimpy black leotard and Pixie Lott gave the crowd a little more than they bargained for as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction in a very short dress. No-one seemed to mind.

The show ran smoothly after a little re-jigging thanks to Cher Lloyd, who arrived late then spent ages in hair and make-up.

Then it was all over for another year and thousands of festival-goers made their way home, very happy and with big smiles across their faces. Jake Oakley
