Leeds rockers set for biggest hometown show

Pulled Apart By Horses have also announced details of the fourth release to be taken from their critically acclaimed album ‘Blood’.

‘Grim Deal’ is out on Best of the Best through Sony Red. The song title pays homage to legendary Pixies bassist Kim Deal and the track is a live favourite with fans from their recent tour.

“This track became one of the stepping stones which lead us into what ‘Blood’ finally became as a record. It’s a large nod to Pixies, Pavement, The Breeders and a sonically guitar driven attempt at poking pop into our realm of horsery,” explained guitarist James Brown.

A three minute gnarling and growling rock tidal wave, ‘Grim Deal’ is the final single from ‘Blood’ and follow up to ‘Medium Rare’ which received amazing responses, airtime on Radio 1 and caused the NME to proclaim “Pulled Apart By Horses are now a serious rock band”.

Saturday, April 18 will also see the band release live album ‘One Night In Heaven’ exclusively for this year’s official Record Store Day via Too Pure/Transgressive on strictly limited 12” vinyl.

The album is a recording of a live set from their recent London headline show at Heaven in November 2014 and will be limited to only 500 copies.

The live album marks the end of an era as Pulled Apart By Horses’ last release with founding member and stick-smith Lee Vincent, but the band are excited to be able to introduce their new drummer Tommy Davidson (Department M, These Monsters, Dinosaur Pile-Up).

Lee announced his decision to step down from Pulled Apart By Horses towards the end of last month, explaining: “Life has pulled me in a different direction to my fellow Horses and the life of a touring musician just isn’t for me any more.

“I’m immensely proud of everything we’ve achieved and the music we’ve created together, and I look forward to witnessing the next phase of PABH with my good friend Tommy filling the drum stool.”

So now the band move on into the next phase of their career, saying: “We’re extremely excited to introduce you to the brand new fourth member of PABH. Tommy has been a close friend of ours for many years. We simply cannot wait to get on the road with him.”

Tommy added: “I’m over the moon to have joined Horses. The boys are like brothers to me so any excuse to hang out with them even more is gladly welcomed. We’ve already got stuck in with writing some new tunes which is really exciting.

“I’m also buzzing about all of the gigs and festivals that we’ve got coming up over the next few months. I have a feeling we’re gonna have a lot of fun!”
