Fund-raiser is perfect curtain-raiser

LOCAL lads the Tritones will appear at Dewsbury Socialist Club this weekend as part of a fundraiser for this year’s Oxjam Kirklees festival.

The ever-popular local classics band is helping to raise money while promising a rip-roaring show of their own.

“We are delighted to support this wonderful cause,” said Tritones singer Nick Walsh. “It’s great that we’re in a position to be able to hold a festival like this in our home town.”

The Tritones fundraiser is on Saturday August 18, and is the perfect curtain-raiser for the Oxjam Kirklees festival itself – on October 20 at the Parochial Hall, Westtown.

The festival will bring together Blackstone Edge, Ryan Spendlove, Ben Parcell, Ken Senior, Quiet Rebellion, Mark Nichols and many more for a packed one-day event.

Entry to this Saturday’s event is free, however fundraising for the festival – including a prize raffle – will go on throughout the evening.

Throughout October, festivals will be held all over the country – including Oxjam Kirklees – bringing people together to celebrate local talent and help save lives around the world.
