Everything goes well in Hecky players’ show!

The stage at Cleckheaton town hall was transformed into the deck of the SS American when Heckmondwike Players celebrated their 70th in fine style with Cole Porter’s Anything Goes.

The Players enthralled their audiences with accomplished singing and spectacular choreography, particularly full cast numbers Anything Goes and Blow Gabriel. Leading ladies Christine Shoesmith as Reno Sweeny and Helen Wrigglesworth as Hope Harcourt performed with style and grace, singing with feeling and conviction. The Players were fortunate to have three strong male leads in Ryszard Szepler as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh and newcomers Matthew Reather as Billy Crocker and Paul Hardill as Moonface Martin. Strong backing came from Dan Senior, Janet Peace, Jeremy Shoesmith, Keith Simpson and Pete Forsyth. A triumph of talent and energy.
