Competition: Win tickets to Oakwell Hall Music Festival

Multi-platinum-selling pop-rockers The Hoosiers will headline the one day event, which boasts three stages and more than 20 bands, on July 12.

Other on-the up artists included are the X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan and The Dunwells, who appeared on the Andrew Marr Show in January.

And the Reporter Series is pleased to reveal it has five pairs of free tickets up for grabs, allowing lucky winners access to all the festival has to offer.

Kirklees College and Wakefield’s Trinity Walk Shopping Centre have also stepped-up to part-sponsor the event, which is organised by Working Chimp Productions.

A Battle of the Bands at the college is now to decide the headliners of the festival’s Robert Watts Marquee Stage.

Organiser Paul Fisher said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for a young, local act to win a competition like this and help them on their first steps to potential stardom.

“An initial small festival platform has seen many famous bands start off their careers, with much success.”

Lucy Edwards, marketing and public relations manager at Kirklees College, added: “The Oakwell Festival promises to be an exciting event for our community and we are delighted to be part of it.”

The festival is aimed at families and will include a fairground, bouncy castle and food stalls.
