The Yorkshire Day celebrations saw a host of live musical acts take to the stage - including performances by the Crescendos, Penny, Hebble, Hardeep Sahota, Land Lubbers, Al’s Django Party, Sarah Sax, and Flat Cap Brass - whilst the Yorkshire Makers’ Market saw more than 50 stalls offering a diverse range of locally made products.
The event, which took place yesterday (Sunday), introduced the Poetry Takeaway which saw Yorkshire-born poets Jo Bell, Matt Abbott, Erin Bolens and Jack Collins deliver personalised poems from their creative van.
The Larkin About space hosted the Great Yorkshire Games, led by two larger-than-life Yorkshire farmers, saw daft sporting contests including welly tossing, sheep herding, hobby horse show jumping and Yorkshire Tea bag throwing.
Boom Chikka Boom brought family fun with dance routines, bubbles and festival vibes, while Pif-Paf rounded off the day with their Bee Cart, featuring Bombus and Borage and their inventions inspired by the natural world.
