Film fans share their love of the silver screen

Psychological thriller Berberian Sound Studio kicks off the latest season at Dewsbury’s New Picture House cinema.

The volunteer-run venture has a varied programme planned for the coming months, taking in everything from German tragi-comedy to Quentin Tarantino’s biggest box office hit to date.

The cinema in South Street will host two screenings this weekend with Berberian Sound Studio on Friday and Goodbye Lenin! on Sunday.

British black comedy Sightseers will be shown on Friday May 10, followed by the Bafta-nominated Rust and Bone on Sunday May 26.

The season continues on Friday June 7 with Tarantino’s western Django Unchained.

It draws to a close on Sunday June 23 with American drama film The Master.

Tickets cost £4 from http://www.newpicturehouse.com/ or the venue in Yorkshire House on film nights. Doors open at 6.30pm.
