Thousands flocked to Dewsbury last weekend as the town centre was transformed into a traditional seaside resort with its very own beach.
Kids built sandcastles and enjoyed pirate tales in the belly of a giant whale, while parents soaked up the summer sun on deckchairs along Foundry Street.
Elsewhere, puppet shows, street entertainers, knobbly knee competitions and Dewsbury On Sea sticks of rock put smiles on visitors' faces.
And on Sunday Dewsbury looked forward to London 2012 with a huge celebration to mark the Olympic handover from Beijing.
On the main stage outside Dewsbury Town Hall lion dancers, traditional Chinese musicians and dance troupes entertained the crowds.
Over in the Sports Zone local running and boxing clubs showed off their skills and members of the public could test out their pedal power and reaction times.
Meanwhile, street performers Chol hosted their own Edwardian tea party inspired by the tea trade between China and Britain.
The celebrations culminated with a specially commissioned Olympic flag flying above the town hall.
