Town see of Westgate challenge to book HW Cup quarter-final date

Mirfield Town proved too strong for Championship side Wellington Westgate as they booked a place in the Heavy Woollen Challenge Cup quarter-finals with a 4-0 win last Sunday.

Chris Meeson fired a brace, while further goals from Oliver Rounding and Elliot Smith saw Mirfield into the last eight, where they will meet Woodman Batley Carr on November 27.

Woodman overcame fellow Premier Division side Navigation 5-2 after Andy Bates, Andrew Pickles, Jonathan Walton, Neil Pickles and Lee Brooke all found the net.

AFC Chickenley may lie at the foot of the Premier Division, without a win from their opening four league games, but they sprang a surprise, defeating high flying Birstall Cricket Club 6-4.
