Spen Victoria suffered a 43-run defeat to Bradford League Division Two leaders Morley.

Colin Nuthall(42no) and David Nebard (25) scored vital runs late in the innings as Morley recovered to post 193-9 after Adal Islam had taken 5-42.

Nebard followed up by taking 5-47 as Spen were dismissed for 150. Peter Jackson (57) battled well before being the last man out with 2.4 overs of the game left.

Second-placed Scholes were frustrated by the weather as rain forced the abandonment of their game at Bankfoot when they needed 43 runs from 12 overs with seven wickets in hand as they pursued Bankfoot’s score of 195-9.

An unbeaten 43 from Robert Ellis was the highlight of the Bankfoot innings as Scholes captain James Stansfield took 4-43.

Hisan Ahmed (3-27) posed early problems for Scholes before Yassir Ali (69no) and Toby Thorpe (40) shared a third-wicket stand of 100.

Gomersal maintained their promotion challenge with a 54-run win over bottom team Keighley.

Openers Ben Hyde (65) and Adam Greenwood (65) shared a 130-run which provided the platform for Gomersal to make 229, despite the efforts of Andrew Wear (4-58).

Sam Murphy (61) top scored in Keighley’s 175-9 as Jonathan Boynton took 3-42.

Hartshead Moor were dismissed for 131 as Alex Robinson (4-30) and Mohammed Rafiq (3-25) bowled impressive spells for Idle.

The home side were reduced to 82-6 in reply as Danny Squire took 5-14, before the match was abandoned with Idle needing 50 to win from the final 11 overs.
