Parish A take centre stage for cup semi

MIRFIELD Parish Cavaliers A will be thrust into the limelight on Sunday when they aim to topple double-chasing East Ardsley A in the Wheatley Cup semi-final.

Parish A are bottom of Central Yorkshire League Division Two, 27 points behind leaders Ardsley A, but they will look to upset the odds and reach the final.

The other Wheatley semi is between Wakefield Thornes and Oulton, with the final on August 19 at Wrenthorpe.

Sunday’s Jack Hampshire semi-finals see Birstall host Wrenthorpe and Townville entertain Wakefield Thornes.

Hanging Heaton will be aiming to reach the Priestley Cup final for the first time since 2000 when they travel to Manningham Mills in Sunday’s semi.
