Influential scrum-half Anthony Thackeray will aim to extend his excellent scoring run to five consecutive matches when Dewsbury Rams entertain Sheffield Eagles on Sunday.

Thackeray’s superb 85-yard interception try against Featherstone Rovers took his tally to nine in the last four games and 15 in this season’s Kingstone Press Championship.

Hull FC’s Jamie Shaul and Barrow’s Dalton Grant are the only other two players in professional rugby league to match Thackeray’s recent scoring record of four straight matches.

Thackeray is one of three Championship players on 15 tries, eight behind leading scorer Ryan Brierley of Leigh Centurions on 23.

Ben Blackmore’s brace against the Rams last week was his third successive two-try salvo for three different clubs.

Blackmore scored twice for Huddersfield against St Helens on May 23 and another double for Batley against Featherstone on June 1.

Having joined Rovers on a permanent deal last week, Blackmore marked his Featherstone debut with another brace in the 36-24 victory over Dewsbury last Sunday.

Sheffield’s Dominic Brambani has the longest scoring streak in rugby league, having registered points in the Eagles’ last 29 matches.

Brambani last failed to score in a 29-10 Challenge Cup quarter-final defeat to London Broncos at Don Valley Stadium on July 12 last year.

His run of consecutive scoring began with four goals in the Northern Rail Cup final when Sheffield defeated Leigh Centurions 43-28 at The Shay, Halifax, on July 20 last year.

Brambani is also set to feature in his 130th consecutive game against former club Dewsbury on Sunday.

Brambani has been ever present in all 86 Sheffield games since he joined from Dewsbury at the begin of the 2012 season.

Prior to that, he played in his last 43 games for the Rams.

He last missed a game on April 5 2010 when Dewsbury lost 42-10 at home to Keighley.

Brambani’s appearance streak started on April 11 2010 as Dewsbury lost 20-12 home loss to Whitehaven.
