Rams swoop to sign Wray from Castleford Tigers Academy

Dewsbury Rams have further strengthened their squad with the signing of promising young prop forward Jack Wray from Castleford Tigers Academy.

It comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement that second rower Liam Johnson has also been recruited by new head coach Lee Greenwood for the 2019 season.

21 year-old Johnson has spent a number of years in the Huddersfield Giants academy, while enjoying a number of loan spells, including Oldham, Sheffield Eagles and Bradford Bulls.

Speaking about joining the Rams. Johnson said: “Moving to Dewsbury will give me a bit more time for my personal development, obviously I am not being sent different places all the time now. Now I have got somewhere to focus on, and focus on myself and really kick on.

“I think it is an exciting time at the club, with a new coaching set up and a new head coach, the club has got really good facilities which they own. I think it is a really good time in my career to kick on and develop.”

Wray becomes the third signing in the space of the last few days after prop forward Jordan Andrade signed from Gloucestershire All Golds.
