Josh Warrington successfully defended his English featherweight title with a unanimous points victory over Slough’s Ian Bailey at Elland Road on Friday night.
Leeds United fan Warrington had the support of a huge home crowd and produced a terrific display to inflict an emphatic victory.
Bailey sustained a nasty cut over his right eye in the eighth round and for a time, it appeared as though the bout would be stopped.
Bailey battled on gamely and deserved to hear the bell at the end of 10 absorbing rounds.
I awarded Warrington a shut-out 100 points to 90 victory - winning all 10 rounds, while the official judges scorecards read 100-91, 98-92, 100-90.
