Groat makes move to Capras

Dewsbury coach Glenn Morrison announced Groat was returning Down Under at the end of last season after the 24-year-old featured in 23 games for the Rams in 2016.

Groat’s last appearance came in the 30-22 Championship Shield semi-final defeat at Bradford Bulls and he has now joined the Central Queensland Capras, who are a feeder team to NRL side Gold Coast Titans.

Dewsbury’s squad are continuing to prepare for the new campaign, with their opening pre-season friendly, the Boxing Day Challenge against Batley Bulldogs, a little over three weeks away.

Dewsbury have also announced prices for their pre-season friendly matches against Super League sides Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Centurions.

The Rams host Trinity on Sunday January 8 (kick off 3pm) and pay on the day prices are £12 adults, £10 concessions and £5 for under-16s, with junior season ticket holders of both clubs admitted free.

The Rams are selling tickets for their trip to Leigh Sports Village on January 29 (kick off 3pm) priced £15 adults, £10 for 18 to 21 year-olds and £5 for under-18s, while children under five admitted free of charge.
