Gary Sykes racked up the 25th win of his professional career by defeating Mark McKray over six rounds at Elland Road on Friday night.

Tottenham-based Jamaican McKray attempted to connect with several big shots but for most of the fight, Sykes avoided them and tried to box at long range.
Sykes admitted he was relieved to have got through unscathed and is now focussing on his British super featherweight title against Stephen Smith at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on December 7.
Post fight interviews with Sykes and trainer Julain McGowan, along with pictures of Gary’s fight in next week’s papers.
Elsewhere on an excellent VIP Promotions and Mark Bateson bill, there was a big shock as Adil Anwar suffered a 39-27 points defeat to Simon Lucas.
China Clarke overcame Moses Motovu on points and Hull’s Tommy Coylde defeated Lancashire’s William Warburton in the build up to his mouthwatering clash with Gavin Rees.
Leeds boxer Tyson Lone suffered a debut defeat to Darlington’s Chris Wood, while Harry Matthew and Darren McKenna battled out a draw.
