Zahoor shines as Mount ease to Twenty20 Cup win

Mount overcame Almondburians by eight wickets in a one sided final as they added the T20 trophy to the second team’s Tinker Cup success the previous week.

Almondburians elected to bat after winning the toss but were soon in trouble as exceptional bowling displays restricted them to a total of just 90 all out.

Only Sam Atkin got to grips with the Mount bowling as he top scored with a respectable 44 as Zahoor Munaf was the pick of the bowlers taking an impressive 4-20.

Zahoor claimed three wickets in one over and was unfortunate not to take a hat-trick as he put Mount on course for victory.

Imran Patel claimed two wickets for three runs in four overs, while Junaid Delair picked up 1-8 in his four overs as they piled on the misery for the Almondburians batsmen.

Mount made a flying start to their reply and scored half the required runs in the opening four overs.

Captain Imran Ravat was caught on 48 having hit four sixes and five fours, while the impressive Nazir was out next ball on 34 as Mount briefly wavered.

Vice captain Yusuf Kayat finished the game off with a boundary as Mount won the with more than 11 overs to spare.

Mount are bidding to claim a third trophy of the season as they also lead the Huddersfield Central League Premier Section table by 22 points from second placed Green Moor.
