TABLE Tennis star Howard Tomlinson captured his latest gold medal at the Special Olympics in Bournemouth.

The competition was open to players from across the British Isles and Howard had to overcome players from England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Wight to become champion.

In winning gold Howard, who is from Mirfield, qualified to represent England at next months European Open to be held in the Czech Republic.

Howard will travel to Hradec Kralove to compete in the European Open between November 12 to 15 when he will be aiming for further success.
