Saudagar strikes as Moor earn first win

Hartshead Moor registered their first win in the All Rounder Bradford League Championship B division last Saturday, defeating Altofts by eight wickets.

Nasseer Saudagar claimed 5-27 and Daniel Squire 3-21 as Hartshead dismissed Altofts for 65.

Openers James Hardcastle (25) and Richard Ferry (25) ensured Hartshead had no problems reaching their target.

Spen Victoria earned the derby bragging rights as they defeated neighbours Gomersal by 115 runs.

Spen were led to an impressive total of 208 all out by captain Oliver Davison (38) and Nick Montgomery (34), with Richard Wear picking up 6-63.

Gomersal were unable to capitalise on West’s efforts as their batting crumbled.

Young Spen spinner Alex Leadbeater took 4-15 as Gomersal were dismissed for 93, with Evan Edwards (3-21) supporting.

Wrenthorpe moved into second place with an eight-wicket win at Carlton.

Luke Patel (4-39) and Chris Leaf (3-21) helped dismiss Carlton for 158 before captain Andrew Bourke (65), Luke Patel (43no) and Greg Wood (32no) saw Wrenthorpe home in just 18.2 overs

Bowling Old Lane racked up an impressive total of 328-7 with Farakh Hussain (92), Abid Alishan (80) and Sadqat Zaman (50no) in form before rain halted their game at Bankfoot.
