Dewsbury Rams have announced a startling deal which has seen them sign up virtually the entire Bradford Bulls squad on dual registration terms.

Rams boss Glenn Morrison and Bradford counterpart, Dewsbury-born Francis Cummins, sat down this week to strike the deal, which will benefit both clubs.

Any Bradford player not selected in the Bulls 19-man squad each week will be released to play for Dewsbury and Morrison and Cummins will meet on a regular basis to discuss who will be available.

Morrison revealed: “We have dual-reg’ed the whole Bulls squad, apart from the two they have on loan.

“The Bulls want players playing and if that can strengthen our squad then it will benefit both us and the Bulls.

“Two players were sent to us this week, they are quality Super League players, and showed the right attitude when they came.

“They really ripped into training and have helped our boys and really fitted in.”

Although Morrison was reluctant to name the two players, it is understood Danny Addy, James Donaldson and Adam O’Brien were among those that Bradford were considering releasing.

Morrison has told the duo they will definitely be playing in the Rams opening Championship game of the season at Doncaster on Sunday (3pm).

Morrison added: “Donny will be confident having won promotion last year and they are also likely to have three or four Wakefield Wildcats players in their squad.

“We are fit and raring to go. Some of the boys will be disappointed to miss out but I’m sure they are good enough to take it on the chin and work hard to make the squad.

“With a new coach and a new squad we would love to come away with our first win.”
