New Farnley were dismissed for 118 as spinner Andrew Deegan (3-13) and swing bowler Sam Wilson (3-41) did the damage for Cleckheaton.

Simon Lambert, New Farnley’s winter signing from York, top scored with 42.

Cleckheaton wasted no time knocking off the runs, reaching their target in 15.2 overs with captain John Wood (48), Andy Gorrod (31) and Chris Holliday (30no) leading the way.

There are new Premier Division leaders with champions Pudsey St Lawrence taking over from Hanging Heaton.

The Bennett Lane side suffered a first defeat of the season as Lightcliffe produced a thrilling run chase to overhaul Heaton’s impressive total of 320-6.

Heaton openers Gary Fellows and Nick Connolly both made fine centuries, each scoring 113 in a stand of 216.

Fellows struck 13 fours and four sixes while making his second hundred of the campaign while Connolly’s innings contained four sixes and 11 fours.

However, Lightcliffe overseas player Suleman Khan hit an unbeaten 121 from just 89 balls to steer his side to a stunning run chase.

Khan smashed eight sixes and eight fours as his side won with four balls and six wickets to spare after former Heaton batsman Ian Philliskirk (76) and Alex Stead (58) set the tone with a second-wicket stand of 127.

St Lawrence took advantage to move top after overcoming a middle-order collapse to beat bottom side Scholes by 81 runs.

Yassir Ali took a hat-trick on his way to 4-44 as St Lawrence were reduced to 105-7 before Richie Lamb (35no) and captain James Smith (40) rescued their side.

Saints’ eventual total of 194-9 proved out of Scholes’ reach as the home side were dismissed for 113 with Lamb taking 5-28. Irfan Amjad provided the only resistance with an unbeaten 60.

Morley overseas player Kashif Naveed made the Premier League’s highest individual score of 137 against Bradford and Bingley last Saturday.

Naveed arrived at the crease with his side 12-3 but hit nine sixes and 11 fours in helping Morley to post a respectable score of 207-8.

Bradford & Bingley’s reply never got going as paceman Matthew Dowse took 4-30 and Naveed 2-15 to dismiss them for 108.

Morley’s 99-run victory was their second of the campaign and leaves them in sixth place.
