Amateur RL clubs’ trophy winners

This was Dewsbury Moor u10s presentation. The trophy winners were, Taylor Franklin parents player of the year. Jay Haywood-Scriven player of the year, Connor Charlesworth players player. Joint most improved was Josh Inwood and Aaron O'Neil and clubman of the year was Ethan Thompson.

BRADFORD Bulls star Heath L’estrange handed out the awards at Birkenshaw RL Club’s junior presentation.

This was the first time in almost 20 years that the club have fielded junior teams, with Under-7s and Under-9s competing.

The sides will resume training in February at East Bierley playing fields and new players aged six to 10 years old are welcome.

Under-9s Awards Top try scorer, player of the year and players player: Harry Gray. Commitment and hard work awards: Ethan Rushan and George Worthington. Coaches award: Jacob Stuart and Oliver Armitage. Top tackler: William Davies. Most improved player: Freddie Lincoln.

At the Dewsbury Moor Under-10s presentation the following received awards: Jay Hayward-Scriven player of the year; Connor Charlesworth players’ player of the year; Josh Inwood and Aaron O’Neil joint most improved players of the year; Ethan Thompson club man of the year; Taylor Frankland parents’ player of the year.

n The eagerly awaited Yorkshire Under-15s Cup semi-final between Dewsbury Moor and Skirlaugh was once again cancelled, this time because of frost. The game has now been postponed twice and may be moved to Skirlaugh this coming Sunday. Also on Sunday, the scheduled Yorkshire Youth fixtures against Normanton fell foul of the weather.

n Dewsbury Celtic are running fun rugby taster sessions this Sunday (December 9), followed by Saturday December 29, January 12 and January 26 for boys and girls ages four to nine years old in Crow Nest Park. Sessions start at 11am.
