Liversedge face a stern test as they build towards the Northern Counties East League Premier Division season with a trip to unbeaten Hull United tomorrow (kick off 3pm).

Liversedge suffered their first defeat of pre-season on Tuesday when they went down 3-1 at Knaresborough Town and come up against a Hull side, who have won four and drawn one of their warm-up matches.

Hull United are managed by former Sheffield United player, turned British boxing champion Curtis Woodhouse, who is sure to have his side well drilled.

United will play in NCE Division One this season but are looking to make a mark and they earned a very creditable draw against Scarborough Athletic a fortnight ago.

A brace either side of half-time from George Eustance, plus a Graham Whitehead strike put Knaresborough in control on Tuesday before Archie Watson grabbed a late consolation as Sedge tasted a first defeat of pre-season.

They recorded a 3-1 victory at home to Silsden last Saturday as James French and Kieran Corley put them 2-0 up inside the first 11 minutes, Josh Hope bagged a third after the break before Silsden replied with a 90th minute consolation goal.

Liversedge have four pre-season fixtures remaining, including Tuesday’s home game with Goole, before the league campaign begins on Saturday August 8 with a trip to Premier Division new boys Clipstone.

Liversedge are running a coach to their FA Cup extra preliminary round tie at Holker Old Boys on August 15.

The cost is £10 and can be booked by e-mailing liversedgefc@btinternet.com or via Twitter @Liversedge_FC.

Liversedge have also confirmed their Under-19s will play in the Northern Youth Alliance League West Division this season.
