Hartshead Moor’s surge up the Bradford League Division Two table came to a halt when they suffered defeat to Great Horton.

Moor were undone by a terrific all-round display from Naeem Khan as he top scored for Great Horton with 74.

Support came from Majid Khan (46no) as Great Horton reached 220-5.

Hartshead Moor were dismissed for 158, with overseas player Fahad Ul-haq top scoring with 42 and Owen Brooke (40) supporting, but they were bowled out for 158 as Naeem Khan claimed 6-42 to help his side collect 19 points.

Defeat leaves Moor fifth in the table but although any faint hopes of mounting a late promotion challenge were extinguished, Hartshead still have chance of a third place finish.

Spen Victoria are anxiously looking over their shoulders at the bottom two after they suffered a six-wicket defeat to promotion chasing Saltaire.

Spen are just 10 points above second-bottom Brighouse, with the bottom two sides having to apply for re-election at the end of the season.

Saltaire are closing in on a quick return to the top flight and one more victory should prove to be enough to secure promotion.

Peter Jackson was again Spen’s top scorer with 65 while Imran Patel made 31 but they were bowled out for 147, Saltaire overseas player Israr Ullah (4-31) and Amer Ayoub (4-36) impressed.

Saltaire cruised to victory in 25.2 overs with Rashid Ayoub leading the way with 54 with support coming from Tinashe Gomwe (45) and Ullah (36).
