Drighlington play in a division higher than Gomersal in the Huddersfield Junior League and were firm favourites having racked up 36 goals in their three ties en-route to the final.

Gomersal battled hard in the first half and were somewhat unfortunate to be trailing 3-0 at the break but played with pride and passion to get themselves back in the game in the second half.

Harrison Shaw gave the underdogs hope when he pulled a goal back and Gomersal went close to adding a second but Drighlington denied them and, with time running out, they bagged a fourth to seal victory.

It was a great game played in a good spirit by two enthusiastic teams who can both be proud of their performance.
