DEWSBURY-born midfielder Chris Dawson is celebrating after signing his first professional contract with Leeds United.
The 18 year-old has been with the club’s academy since the age of nine and has signed a contract that will keep him at Elland Road until 2015.
The contract is reward for an impressive start to the season by the second-year scholar, who has impressed for United’s under-21s against Leicester City and as a substitute in last Tuesday’s clash with Huddersfield Town.
United’s development coach Neil Redfearn said: “I think we will see a lot more of Chris Dawson.
“He has great feet. He’s a football athlete, which is what we’re looking at in the academy. He has great awareness, he opened [Huddersfield] up a few times on Tuesday.”
