Aswat bags five goals as Savile Youth secure victory in Spen Memorial Trophy

Savile Youth lie second place of the Spen Valley Memorial Trophy Group A following a 7-1 win over Norfolk last Saturday.

Abdullah Aswat led the way with five goals, while Yusuf Akudi bagged a brace as Youth opened up a four point lead over Norfolk.

Girlington lead the group with three wins from three, their latest a 7-1 triumph over Savile Town which saw Mohammed Qasim score four goals, with Saad Abbas, Umar Zahoor and Qaqas Khan also on target.

Sajeel Qadir replied for Savile Town.

Savile United are three points clear at the top of Group B after Faisal Adam bagged a hat-trick and Ismail Pandor, Uzair Kola, Rizwan Ismail and Abdur Karim Mahmood also struck in a 7-2 win over Howden Clough, who replied with a Ashton Roberts brace.

Dewsbury West Side sealed a third straight win and top Group C after defeating George Healey 5-3.

Lewis Boddy, Andy Douglas and Mohammed Shoaib struck for George, who have six points from four games and are back in third place.

Norristhorpe Reserves put up a determined fight against Division Five leaders Garforth Crusaders before suffering a 2-0 defeat.

The sides went into half-time goaless before Garforth took the lead with a 47th minute goal but needed a 92nd minute penalty to secure all three points.

Dewsbury Rangers Reserves missed the chance to move within a point of second placed Methley United when they suffered a surprise 5-0 defeat at home to bottom side Drighlington Reserves.

West End Park remain second in Division Six despite slipping to a 1-0 defeat away to Rothwell Reserves.

West End are enjoying their first season having switched from the Spen Valley League and have five wins and three defeats from their opening eight matches.

West End lie 10 points off runaway leaders Morley United but are above Centralians on goal difference and are now just a point ahead of Rothwell.

Batleians Reserves earned their second win of the season to move off the foot of the table and above opponents Huddersfield Amateurs Reserves.

James Byrne bagged a brace, with Jotham Barnett also netting as Batelians ran out 3-1 winners as they climbed to ninth place.
