Rams coach Glenn Morrison admitted his side found the full-time Broncos too strong last week but wants his side to finish this section of the season well with three games before the split.

Dewsury head to Workington lying eighth in the table and know victory is important if they are to stay ahead of the bottom two.

Morrison is targeting a top-eight finish before turning his attentions to an assault on the Championship Shield.

Morrison said: “We want to try and finish in the top-eight, so we can get an extra home game when the competition splits.

“We don’t want to get relegated so we need to make sure we get some wins. If we do that we will put some daylight between us and the bottom.

“They (London) defended really well and never gave us chance to play.

“Half the team played well and half the team didn’t show up, which was disappointing.”

Dewsbury will assess Scott Hale, who suffered an ankle injury against London, but it has been confirmed that leading try scorer Dalton Grant will miss the rest of the season after snapping his Achilles against Batley a fortnight ago.

Bobbie Goulding made his second Rams debut against the Broncos after scrum-half Andy Kain was taken ill on the morning of the match.

Morrison added: “Bobbie has only been at the club a week and we had to throw him in at the deep end. He is still getting to know the players so we were a bit disrupted, but we need to fix things up.”

Dewsbury play seventh-placed Swinton in their final home game of the regular season on July 17 before travelling to leaders Leigh Centurions on July 24.
